 Come on over to La Mesa California with 200,000 of your best friends for the La Mesa Village Oktoberfest this October. This is the largest three day Oktoberfest this side of the Mississippi.

The La Mesa Oktoberfest covers seven city blocks with 250 craft booths and five food courts. And, what would an Oktoberfest be without two beer gardens, a dance floor and even a children's carnival.

The "Big Beer Garden" is sponsored by the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce and is located in the Allison Street parking lot (between Pine Street and Palm Avenue. This is home to the large festival stage and is family (but not pet) friendly.

The Nebo Drive Beer Garden is sponsored by the La Mesa Village Merchant's Association and is located next to the La Mesa Train Museum and is an adult only beer garden.

There will be three German beers, serving Hacker-Pschorr Original Oktoberfest, Munich Gold and Paulaner Hafe-Weisen and will host the "Bavarian Beer Garden Band" at the Nebo Dr Beer Garden on Friday October 3rd from 6 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm. The band will also be at the 4th St Food Court from 6 pm to 9 pm on Saturday. 

Marissa Grace, an 11 year old La Mesa resident will be performing at the Association's 4th St Food Court from 4 pm to 6 pm on Friday, and at the Nebo Dr Food Court from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday. 

"Young Actors Theatre" will be performing on Sunday at the 4th St Food Court at 3 pm and at the Nebo Dr Food Court at 4:30.

La Mesa Oktoberfest is sponsored by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce and the La Mesa Merchants Association the first full weekend in October. The streets are closed to vehicles to accommodate 250 craft, food and arts booths. La Mesa's downtown parking lot becomes a German-style Beer Garden.  Beer sales stop at 10:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights.  Admission to the public is free.  This is one of the biggest Oktoberfest around. Do yourself a favor and ride the San Diego Trolley's East Line to the event. It will drop you off right in the middle of Oktoberfest in La Mesa.

200,000 expected to attend this 41st Annual Fest.

For the families there is a Kids Zone for children under 12 that include carvinal rides, games and other activities.

Many of the local businesses will remain open during the La Mesa OktoberFest in case you are looking for other ethnic food, antiques or books. Other things to do -
