CORONADO MAP
Although connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land, Coronado is considered by many to be an island. Perhaps an island offering a different culture and tempo from the city across the bay, San Diego.
At one end of the "Island" you will find the Grand Lady of hotels, the HOTEL DEL CORONADO. Situated right along the sparkling Pacific Ocean, "The Del" has much to offer the most discriminating visitor. Unique shops, fine dining, tennis and swimming all add to the experience. The Del provides just the right balance of California Casual and Old World Formal life styles. Oh, and don't forget to be on the lookout for the Ghosts of the Haunted Hotel Del. |
At the other end of Coronado, and just across the bay from San Diego is The Landing Marketplace. Coronado's Specialty Bay front Shopping & dining Center. Unique Shops & Galleries, Bike Rentals, Restaurants & Fun Eateries. Drive over the San Diego/Coronado Bridge, or Ferry on over! |
In between, you will discover the shops, hotels and restaurants that have delighted residents and visitors for years. Many fine hotels and motels in Coronado offer just the right choice of lodging to make your stay memorable for you. |
Many unique homes are scattered through out Coronado. Some homes are tucked into back streets, and some fine old mansions line the main streets and face onto the ocean. Just spending the day walking around many of these interesting and historical neighborhoods is an experience not to be forgotten. You may just even find the house where the Wizard of Oz books were written! |
And Don't forget the miles of white sandy beaches. Free to the public.
Come picnic, swim, or just sit on the sand and let the world slow down for a while. Style
