Fed by a nearby natural
spring, the San Antonio River flows below street level past hotels,
restaurants, shops, clubs, museums and art galleries. This is the famous
river of Davy Crocket's Alamo and other Spanish colonial missions. |
Also known by
its Spanish name, Paseo del Río, the River Walk is expanding from two
miles to over 13 miles. You can easily walk along the entire length, stopping along the way to experience the sights, sounds and excitement that is modern-day San Antonio Water taxis will also take you there. |
