Gaslamp Quarter District itinerary - hotels, things to see and do - sponsored
links
San
Diego's Gaslamp Quarter District covers over 16 city blocks and includes the
elegant Horton Plaza
shopping mall. On the edges of the Gaslamp are Petco Park, home of the San Diego
Padres baseball team; the San Diego Convention Center; Downtown San Diego and
the harbor.
If you choose a hotel here, you can easily walk to enough
things to see and do to fill several days and nights.
There has long been a decidedly Italian flavor to the
Gaslamp restaurants but you will also find excellent seafood, Mexican, Asian,
Irish and steak houses. My favorites are Kiyo's Japanese Restaurant on
"F" Street,
Oceanaire Seafood Room on
"J" Street
and Rockin' Baja Coastal Cantina on
5th Avenue.
For night life try
Croce's Restaurant & Jazz Bar, Jimmy Love's on
5th Avenue or
the Red Circle on
"E" Street.
Shopping favorites are Celebration Fine Art Gallery on
Broadway,
Cuban Cigar Factory on
5th Avenue and
Le Travel Store on
4th Avenue.

Hotel
Solamar - Convenient location in the historic Gaslamp
District puts you just steps away from San Diego's best
shopping, dining, and entertainment, and just one block from
Petco Park and three blocks from the San Diego Convention
Center. Melding the artistic sensibilities of yesteryear
featuring modern Casablanca-style decor. You can't go wrong with
the roof-top pool and lounge. And did I say pets are welcome?

Horton
Grand Hotel - This hotel was lovingly assembled from two
turn of the century hotels. Refurbished with romantic rooms
overlooking the Gaslamp or courtyard it makes a romantic getaway
for locals. Located in downtown San Diego in the heart of the
Gaslamp Quarter, the Horton Grand Hotel's friendly, gracious,
and helpful staff awaits your arrival. Best of all, there be
ghosts here!
